JORGE DANIEL NUNEZ a first
generation Mexican American artist, born in Southern California on April 14th, 1973. Jorge is a Los Angeles based Self Taught
Pop Abstract Cartoonist Painter and Amateur Photographer.
Living in Los Angeles (that is enriched with Latino/Chicano culture), Jorge paints from his Mexican tradition and American
culture. His influences are Keith Haring, Frida Kahlo, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Francis Bacon, Andy Warhol and Banksy. With
the paintings that Jorge has created, he wants the viewer to see the extraordinary in the ordinary. Making a simple statement
to his audience.
Jorge has been photographed by Francesco Carrozzini for L'UOMO
Vogue May/June 2009 issue. You would find a full page photograph of him with his artist statement.
On every painting that Jorge has created, you will find a puzzle piece. The puzzle is Jorge’s symbol and signature.
It’s to bridge the gap between life and art. The true puzzle of life.
